John T. WELCH, one of our respected older citizens died at his home in Northside about 11 on Tuesday night. He was in his usual health and spent the evening at a neighbors. About 10 he complained of difficulty of breathing and got up into a chair. A physician was called but he died within the hour. Funeral services at the Methodist Church on Thursday morning at 10 were in charge of Rev. Victor Kesier, burial at Union Cemetery. Mr. Welch was born near Waynetown March 4, 1861 the son of John and Mary Welch. He was 3 times married, the last time to Mrs. Martha TROUT May 15, 1923 who survives him with two nephews and a niece. - transcribed by kbz

Waveland, April 3 -- Funeral services for John WELCH were held at the Methodist  Church Thursday morning with Rev. Citor Keiser in charge. Pall  bearers were Roy, Omer and Arthur Trout, John Welch and Russell  and Walter Grenard. Music was furnished by Mrs. TS Banta and Mrs.  Elby Emmert with Mrs. Dan Goodwin at piano. Mr. Welch was one of  the oldest citizens of Waveland and will be greatly missed. He  was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and a man who lived  his belief every day of his life. Interment was made at Old Union  Cemetery. Those from out of town who attended were: Roy Trout;  Omer Trout and daughters, Ruth and Margaret; Mr. and Mrs. Ora  Stultz; Mr. and Mrs. Martin; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Stultz and family  of Zionsville; Mr. and Mrs. Hoover, Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs.  Russell Grenard, Waynetown; Mr. and Mrs. John Welch, Colfax; Mrs.  Gagner, Mrs. Lynch and Miss Mildred Grenard, of  Crawfordsville.-transcribed by kbz
